AIRPORT, 2019

For MYSEUM OF TORONTO

For another round, Myseum of Toronto commissioned us to build a memory of an airport in 2019. We have vivid experiences running away from our homelands due to warfare. Yet, our recollections in airports in our native lands and in Canada were blurs; moreso because we spent the least amount of times in there. However, we watched refugees from Syria living in airportd for weeks and months. Stuck in limbo, they created their own quarters in the functioning airports, by using their suitcases and bed sheets. Museum III is an installation which recreates today’s journey from home to a foreign land experienced by many when they first arrive in Canada.
